A marketing major Monte got his start on the streets of New York and Nashville working in the music publishing business, as a writer he scored several covers of his and his co-writer Robert's songs. To support his family during the lean times, he worked in facility maintenance for over five years, "I was probably one of the worst maintenance men you would ever meet, but I worked with a group of super talented engineers and fellow maintenance men who put up with me and taught what a huge challenge it is to keep a facility up and running. I am still using and benefiting from what they taught me". He went on to found one of Nashville's most successful music publishing companies, scoring number one hits by Faith Hill, Tim McGraw and many others. As a PR agent he booked many national shows including ET, and The Late Show with David Letterman. After selling the company he began researching his next venture, "I had a friend who owned several very successful Ace Hardware stores in South Florida, and one of the greatest needs of customers was anti-slip products. He was selling truck loads of a coating for ramps and sidewalks, but he had no answer for those who had slippery surfaces that a coating was inappropriate for". Hearing about a company called Interlake that had a product for tile called Sure Step, he attended a meeting to see the product and was impressed, "They needed someone to kick things off here in the US so they gave me a few gallons and off I went to Jacksonville, Florida". After some initial success he was asked to train other dealers, I thought it would be a good idea to meet fellow distributors, but as I traveled North America I realized just as I had seen back home, that one product would not solve even a small percentage of the floor safety issues out there. All the dealers also had great concerns about using hydrofluoric acid, really one of the most dangerous acids in the world". It became clear that much more was needed to help solve the deadly scourge of slip, trip and falls, he looked for the products that not only were the most effective, affordable, easy to use, but also enviromentaly friendly. "I am proud to say that our Grease Release, Grout Blaster, Traction, Floor Safety Clean really our entire line is we believe the best in the world, and they do it with out harsh corrosive chemicals".
